Garlic Festival Makes This Weekend Stink Really Good

This weekend is the North Plains (Oregon) Garlic Festival, and man is it a stinky good time!  We go every year and our family loves the events, the music, the vendors, and a vast variety of garlic and garlic-related products!  This is a quick note to all of you good people to head North of US 26 and Hillsboro and hit this event up!

Saturday: August 13th

7:00 am: Early start time for the half marathon. Register at www.orrc.net Run. Jessie Mays

8:00 am: Oregon Road Runners Club 10 K & 5 k Run starts. Register at www.orrc.net

10:00 am: Parade down Main Street and Commercial St.

12:00 pm – 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm The Oregon Reptile Man (inside Jessie Mays)

10:00 am – 6:00 pm Friends of the North Plains Library Book sale, inside Jessie Mays Community Center

10:00 am 8:00 pm: Crafts vendors open

10:00 am – 11:00 pm: Festival grounds, food vendors and beer/wine garden open

Sunday: August 14th

10:00 am- 6:00 pm: Festival grounds, food vendors and beer/wine garden open

10:00 am – 3:00 pm Friends of the North Plains Library Book sale, inside Jessie Mays Community Center

10:00 am – 6:00 pm Crafts vendors open

 

Directions and Parking

Festival Location:  Jessie Mays Community Park, 30975 NW Hillcrest Street, North Plains, OR 97133

Preferred Parking: Located at 311th and Commercial St.  Parking is $5.

Parking for the disabled:  A preferred parking area is available for disabled guests at 10990 NW 313th Ave. near the intersection at Wascoe.  Please present a placard to demonstrate your eligibility. There is a parking fee for this area.

Driving Directions:  Signs are available to direct you to the location.

– From Portland:  Take Sunset Highway 26 west to Exit 57 Glencoe. Turn right at top of exit.  Turn left on Pacific Ave Street.  Preferred parking is at Glencoe and Pacific Ave.

– From Oregon Coast:  Take Sunset Highway 26 east to Exit 57 Glencoe. Turn left at top of exit.  Turn left at Pacific Ave.  Preferred parking is at Glencoe and Pacific Ave.
