In belated honor of Arbor Day, The City of Hillsboro Water, Public Works and Parks & Recreation Departments are teaming up to provide 350 saplings to community members. The trees will be handed out at drive up, no contact sites throughout Hillsboro and will include informational materials about how to effectively plant the tree, as well as how to conserve water.
Pick up your sapling (varieties include hemlock, cherry, maple, and more) at Jackson Bottom Wetland Exploration Days on Sunday, October 18 or 25, 12-2pm, or at one of multipleย HillsDOer Month volunteer service eventsย on the last three weekends in October.

  • Sundays 12 – 2 pm
  • Free! No pre-registration required
  • Fun, family-friendly, socially distanced activities
  • Different theme each week (October 18: Bats; October 25: Owls)
  • Elementary school age focus, but all are welcome
  • Simply drive through to pick up your sapling if you can’t stay to play

Liberty High School Social Activism Club: Food Donation & Litter Pick up Sites
  • October 17-18; 24-25: and 31-November 1
  • Drop-in on Saturdays from 10 am – 1 pm and Sundays from 2 pm – 5 pm
  • Visit theย HillsDOer Month Web siteย for detailed schedule of pickup sites and times
  • Students from the Liberty High School Social Activism club will be collecting non-perishable food and hygiene items to be donated to the Oregon Food Bank as well as handing out SOLVE litter clean up kits for community members to help pick up litter and debris in their neighborhoods.
  • Drive through to pick up your sapling, litter kit, and/or donate items in one convenient location.
