The Real Story – A Column
Just a short post tonight. And I am not going to dig in on this one. A Murder took place in Minnesota.
When we were kids, we were all told not to steal. Not to lie. Not to bully our friends or to cheat. All of us Christians were told that the mortal sin was Murder- the original sin.
The Old Testament says: “Whoever strikes a man so that he dies shall be put to death… if a man willfully attacks another to kill him… you shall take him… that he may die.”
The New Testament says:
Jesus repeats that murder is “subject to judgment,” then warns that raging anger/contempt puts someone in danger of severe judgment.
“No murderer has eternal life residing in him.”
All the faiths of the world, which I deeply respect, speak to the same beliefs. Evil VS Good, Murder VS Protection of Life.
As we all watched, the spirit of every American who ever looked up at the Red, White, and Blue was Murdered. The hope for a better America was Murdered. The Freedom we hold to be our birthright as Americans was Murdered. It happened in real time, online, and out in the open. We can all see who is responsible for this murder and who cut them loose on the world. We can all watch in horror as it happened. We can all debate the facts- but deep down we all know it was a god damn murder. Murder. Murder. Murder. America was Murdered today.
We are all hurting tonight. Real Americans must fight on. We have no other choice.
