The Hillsboro Fires that rocked our City at the turn of the New Year have left a massive hole in our City and its commerce. People lost their homes in the first fire and that was followed by an arson fire that leveled the Weil’s building on Main Street.ย  Much has been published about the fundraisers for a couple of the businesses but others are still waiting with little to no help coming yet.

Two new fundraisers have been launched.ย  The first is a gathering of brew and food at Noble Hop Bierhaus on the 20th of January.ย  This event will donate all of the proceeds to the Hillsboro Community Foundation Fund that has been set up for some time.

Here is what was published on the Noble Hope Facebook Page.

By now you have all heard about the devastating fire that happened at the Weil Arcade building in Downtown Hillsboro on January 2nd. The following day our friends @publiccoastbrewing reached out to see what they could do to help. We called up our friends @helvetiacidercompany, @ferttiesbarbeque, & @portlandgear and put together an evening where 100% of the proceeds would benefit those displaced by the fires.
All day long at Noble Hop, Public Coast Brewing & Helvetia cider will be providing the beverages and 100% of the sales will be donated.
At 4:30, Ferttieโ€™s BBQ will be serving their mouth watering BBQ and will be donating 100% of their profits to the cause.
From 4-7pm Portland Gear will be selling their #heartforhillsboro gear and again, 100% of the proceeds go to those displaced by the fire.
We are thankful for our amazing community partners and look forward to seeing you on January 20th to support our amazing town.
A word from Public Coast Brewing:
โ€œPublic Coast Brewing Owner, Ryan Snyder, lost his Cannon Beach Home to fire several years ago. Thankfully him and his family were all safe, but the structure was deemed a complete loss. It was family, friends, and community who were there for them, and although our Brewery is in Cannon Beach, and our Farm is in Banks, this one still hit home and weโ€™re here for you.โ€
If you canโ€™t attend the event and want to donate to the cause, please visit http://www.hillsborocommunityfoundation.org/fire-relief.html
The Herald will see you there at 4 PM this Thursday.ย  ย  Owners Neal Glaske, Mike Soto, and the team at Noble Hop are amazing and this should be a time to gather and support everyone affected by the fire.

If this fundraiser is using the Hillsboro Community Fund to direct this money – is it going to the Hillsboro apartment fire or to the Weil Arcade fire? And how will the funds that are donated be distributed to the folks in need? Can a donor determine where they’d like their money to go? Thanks
