Well, Halloween is going to be a different sort of event this year. Just another victim of COVD 19.  But thanks to the innovation of Melissa Joy at Perks of Art some fun can be had by kids and adults alike!  The first annual Candy Corn Caper is happening now in downtown Hillsboro!

To play along visit the downtown area of Hillsboro along Main Street and the adjacent blocks (2nd -4th) and inside many of the businesses, you will see these giant jars of candy corn like the one see here at White Birch Design Company.

Pretty simple concept and fun as all get out!  Text your guess for the jar and the winner gets a special sticker designed by local artists!  The Candy can not be given away this year because of the pandemic but the winners will get a cool prize and have bragging rights!  This is a fun way to get out of the house, do a little shopping, grab a coffee or meal, and enjoy the Halloween season!

Here is the flyer for the event-

The Hillsboro Downtown Partnership has taken on Melissa’s idea and is helping to make the project happen!

Get out there everyone and soak it up – we all need a little fun right now!

Dicks Hillsboro Honda service department tried to scam me, a senior married to a veteran, out of $4300.00 worth of car repairs last week. They lied, practiced gaslighting, made up a while list of unnecessary repairs and parts replacements. They had my car there 5 days, making up stories every day about parts that they were waiting for. I finally decided I didn’t want to do business with unethical liars and picked up my car. I drive to Les Schwab only to find out that all that was needed was a little rock removed for free. Brakes were fine and no other problems found. Hillsboro does not need unethical businesses tarnishing its reputation. Scam artists should be run out of town in a rail. Please warn people about this business. Thank you.
