On November 20th, 2020 at approximately 9:30 in the evening Hillsboro emergency services were called to the scene of an accident after being called by the driver of the car involved.  At the crossing of River Road and Tualatin Valley Highway, a motorist hit Traci Evans Leiner who was transported from the scene with severe injuries.  Despite best efforts, the victim who was the Mother of three young Hillsboro children did not survive the accident.  The incident was on the news that evening but complete details remain unavailable while the accident is fully investigated and the driver was completely cooperative according to the authorities.

As you all may know the Hillsboro Herald does not cover accidents and murders etc. for a number of reasons.  Having said that we have readers and supporters involved with this tragedy who have reached out to share the news and ask that we share it with all of you.  They also want assistance in providing for the family who is now without their Mother; a person who was greatly loved and whose passing leaves a huge hole.
April Keesey was a close friend of the Victim and has set up a Go Fund Me Seeking help to raise funds to cover necessities in the coming months.  If we could all imagine one of the most tragic things that could ever happen to us this would be it; the loss of a parent with young children.  We ask you all to do what you can, if you can, to support this Family.  We send our deepest sympathies to her family.

Thankfully, sweet Lola, Macie, and Damon, have their loving father, Jason, to take care of them in this next chapter. It is going to be a long and painful road for all of them.

I personally feel helpless, as I am sure so many other do during this difficult time. The one thing that we can do, other than offer our support physically, mentally, and spiritually, is to help them financially. I love this family so much and this is a burden that I don’t want them to have to deal with right now. I know this would mean a lot to Jason and the kids.
