HART Theatre Announces Auditions for World Premiere of “The Amazing Seance Sistersโ€
Hillsboro, OR – June 10
HART Theatre is excited to announce auditions for the world premiere of “The Amazing Seance Sisters,” a new play by local best-selling author April Aasheim, and directed by the talented Harrison Butler. Auditions will be held on June 15 and 16 at HART Theatre and HIVE.
About the Play:
“The Amazing Seance Sisters” is a unique blend of humor, horror, and history inspired by real events. Set during the Civil War, the story follows two sisters from a Midwest town who must fend for themselves after the men leave to join the Union army. In a world with few opportunities for women, they enter the mediumship business, seeking to find their voice and independence. But will they summon more than just ghosts?
Character Descriptions:
– Jayne: Entrepreneurial and adventurous, Jayne is tired of societal constraints. She is in her late 20s.
– Olivia: Prim and proper, Olivia is the voice of reason and a shut-in. She is in her late 20s.
– Maurice: A mysterious magician who arrives to help the sisters with their new seance endeavor. He is around 30
The production also features an ensemble cast of all ages. HART Theatre welcomes new and returning actors of all experience levels.

– Dates: June 15 (12-4 PM) and June 16 (10-2 PM)

April Aasheim is a local best-selling author known for her โ€˜Daughters of Dark Rootโ€™ series. Director Harrison Butler brings a wealth of education, experience and a unique vision to this production.
