Calling all Actors and Actresses!  You are sought for roles in the new production at HART Theatre!  This could be your big break, and for sure, it will be a whole lot of fun! Check out the 411 to get involved.

HART Theatre Hillsboro, Oregon

HART Theater in Downtown Hillsboro is a community gem for those who love the performing arts.  The organization is celebrating 30 years in 2024! The people of Hillsboro are so lucky to have several local organizations producing a vast myriad of shows for our community.  Like their cohort BagNBaggage on Main Street, HART Theatre is a powerhouse for making magic on the stage.  This weekend the HART team is holding open auditions for several roles in the upcoming production of Miss Reardon Drinks A Little. The play, written in 1967 by Paul Zindel, is a story of the Reardon Sisters in the 1960s who are trying to deal with the death of their Mother.  The dark comedy is a crowd favorite but rarely produced.  With the right team at HART, I think this one is going to be a hit.

Auditions For HART This Weekend!

Auditions for ‘And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little’ are this weekend! Jan 6-7 (and an early audition Jan 4)

—3 roles for women 35+ (the Reardon sisters)

—1 role for a woman 35-55 (neighbor who acts as a catalyst)

—1 smaller role for a woman 55+(landlady)

Here is director April Aasheim’s summary of this play:

Audition Alert!

‘And Miss Reardon Drinks a Little’

Written by: Paul Zindel
Directed by: April Aasheim

Their father having deserted them in their childhood, the three Reardon sisters have grown up in a house of women, dominated by their mother, who is only recently dead. But time has erased the tender closeness of girlhood; one sister has married and cut herself off; another has begun to drink more than she should; and the third, after a scandalous incident at the school where she teaches, is on the brink of madness. When the married sister comes to dinner to press the need for committing her sibling to an institution, the simmering resentments of many years burst alive and are exacerbated by the intrusion of a well-meaning but boorish neighbor couple, whose unexpected arrival impels the action towards its shattering conclusion—in which all the pathos, humor and searing honesty of the play combine with overwhelming effect.
