The Hillsboro Police Department has been busy catching bad guys and making great moves in 2024! How could they possibly have time for anything more? Well, they do! Two awesome events are on their schedule, directly benefiting the Hillsboro Community! They are as follows:
SHRED EVENT
Drive up and drop off your confidential documents, and we’ll shred them on-site for free.
Get your confidential documents to shred on-site at this free, self-serve event.
- On-site from 8 am to 1 pm or until shredding trucks are full
- Three box/bag limit
- Monetary donations accepted to benefit the Hillsboro Police Cadets
Please Note: We ONLY accept paper items. Please make sure your boxes do not contain other materials that can break the shred trucks (batteries, remotes, shoes, socks, toys, diapers, trash, binders, binder clips, metal file folders, etc.). Paper clips and staples are okay.
SAFETY TOWN
Summer of 2024 Safey Town! Registration is opening on April 24 through Hillsboro Parks and Recreation.
Safety Town is a week-long, half-day summer camp for children ages six and seven.
Children learn important safety concepts, such as:
- 911
- Personal Safety
- Bike, Pedestrian, and School Bus Safety
- Fire and Water Safety
- Gun Safety
- Internet Safety
- Animal Safety
- Electrical Safety
- Poison Awareness
- Ambulance Awareness
- Emergency Preparedness
- Kid Fit
- Kindness
- Police are Trusted Friends
Music and craft stations reinforce the day’s safety topics.
At the 911 station, kids learn their address and phone number and practice calling 911 on a simulator.
