The 2nd Annual National Night Out is happening this Tuesday night at historic Shute Park located at 953 SE Maple Street, Hillsboro, Oregon.  This event is in its second year and is a family-friendly outing with something for everyone.    The National Night Out website shares the following information:

National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

Here is more information about this event.

Local contractor John Doctor reached out to the Herald and asked us to share the information about this event.  He will be showing one of his classic cars in the Car Show portion of the event.  He wants all car folks to enter and support the community in doing so.  Here is one of John’s cars.  Everyone loves a cool car show so if you have one you want to show get involved!

“It’s really a national night out event with first responders, police, and fire going to be there with booths. The car show part is just for fun and draws more people. It is a free event except if you are entering a car or being a vendor. That money will go towards trophies and covering some but not all the costs to do this great event,” said Doctor.

The music by Pacific Vibe should set the stage for a fun night, and the coloring stations, raffles, and Police Party Patrols will add a nice interactive element.  The weather is going to be much COOLER, thank God!  Hope to see you all out there.
