NORTH PLAINS THREAT LETTER FILLED WITH MISTRUTHS TO THREATEN VOTERS INTO VOTING FOR CURRENT REGIME

The Hillsboro Herald has witnessed many events and has been following the story of the fight over North Plains and its forced growth plans by its Mayor and Current council.  From the open lies told by that group stating that North Plains had to grow under State laws to having the City Attorney try to stop the North Plains citizens from voting for their future through the referendum on growth last year, this has been as bad of governance and political tactics as any I have ever seen.

Careful- Opinions and Statements of Research base facts offered from this point on.

This four-page letter was mailed to voters in the City of North Plains. A few, including the four Candidates from SaveNorthPlains.com, did not get it. Someone with access to the ballots from the referendum vote may have provided the author of this letter with a list, and it appears they weeded out the 4 and anyone close to them with the hope the letter would not be immediately flagged. Giving out a list like that would be a big No-No and require the intervention of the FBI or other Federal offices potentially.

The author is unknown.  However, a police report has now been filed, potentially leading to severe outcomes if the author is revealed.  The letter names the Friends of North Plains Smart Growth members and paints them in a light that could threaten their safety and peaceful existence.  The letter attacks the Washington County CPO, spills lies about the group and the four local residents running for office, and seeks to SCARE local voters.  It also denies the fact that a 72.8% MAJORITY of North Plains voters voted to stop the UGB growth expansion in North Plains. Those in power, including Mayor Teri Lenahan and City Councilor Russ Sheldon, brought the growth expansion plans and showed it down the people’s throats.  They were rebuked and beaten to shreds in the polls and in court here in Washington County.  But now, as the election nears, they are desperate, and whoever sent this letter appears to be too.  This letter is full of lies and mistruths, but have a read for yourself. See our additional comments below.

This author lies about everything and seeks to confuse and manipulate the truth. They are pulling a very Trump-like move and changing the truth while taking credit for all of the good work the Smart Growth people did. At the same time the author dumps the current regime’s plans and actions on those that did the good work.

Here are some things to look at that support this case.

Here is Governor Kotek’s and the City of Hillsboro’s recent growth Map to expand onto the 373 acres that would connect Hillsboro and North Plains to the exact spot where Mayor Lenahan and Sheldon want the City of North Plains to grow. This map plans to deliver city services from Hillsboro to the same place Sheldon/Lenahan proposed in their massive growth plans for North Plains this year. And look at the Water and Sewer being run to this spot. The SMART GROWTH people and the four candidates running on the smart growth platform want to stop this. They want the People of North Plains to have a say- not to have Lenahan, Sheldon, and their supporters at the Portland Association of Realtors and greedy Landowners decide. This proves that much of this mystery letter is lies and aimed at confusing the voters of North Plains. This connection will creat the Hillsboro sprawl that the mystery writer claims the North Plains 4 will bring.  Quite the opposite as they have vocally wanted to stop this connected growth from Hillsboro.

So who would send such a letter?  Hmm….. I wonder.

Let’s examine Teri Lenahan and her funding as she runs for City Council, leaving her Mayor’s Chair open.

Here is who funds Mayor Teri Lenahan’s run for City Council of North Plains.  This is from the State Elections Website.

Hmmm– who is this North Plains 1st PAC? I wonder.

And who is Russ Sheldon for Mayor being funded by?

There is that PAC again. Ok, What the HELL is going on here?  Who is this North Plains 1st Pac which is almost solely funding Lenahan and Sheldon?  I mean, since they (Lenahan/Sheldon) are ALL LOCAL according to the letter, and the Smart Growth people are being run by evil outsiders, who must this wonderful Local funding PAC be that is championing Sheldon/Lenahan?

Look at all that money being spent by this PAC on Ring Digital – WOW – who are they?

It could be this company.

Ring, Ltd.
3982 Powell Road, Ste 15
Powell, Ohio 43065
contact@ring.digital

From their website:  Our “technology allows us to target your audience down to the household. Not ZIP code. Not block. Not range of IP addresses. Household.”

Read that again. They target your households.  So, an OHIO company called Ring Digitial* has been hired by North Plains 1stPAC to target your homes in North Plains – down to the actual doorstep. Target you with digital ads, social media ads, mailers, and even letters?  YES.  Maybe even Letters.  Now, that really is an evil outsider move.  Hire an Ohio agency with money from LONE OAK and a couple of local organizations and landowners to target the people of North Plains.  Wow, that is something an outsider-driven group would do. According to the letter writer, it has to be outsiders who are causing all this election uproar, right?

And who is LONE OAK. Is there no identification other than Lone Oak?  We have researched and know that one possible link could be Lone Oak Land and Investment Company, LLC, which owns about 167 Acres of land just outside the North Plains UGB.  Could it be that entity?  Would it be possible that Lone Oak is a huge landowner desperate to keep Sheldon and Lenahan in Office?

Let’s see. Lone Oak owns 167 Acres and wants to get into the UGB of North Plains, so this is an Outsider wanting in.

Farmland is worth $30,000 an acre with irrigation, which the land has from the Lake on the property. So $30,000 X 167 Acres would be $5 Million in land value.

Let’s say that land gets into the North Plains UGB. Conservatively, that would be worth $700,000 per acre. That is $117,000,000 in land value for an increase of about $110,000,000. Wow. No wonder the landowner, if it is them, would want Sheldon and Lenahan in office.

That is speculation, but we assume this can be resolved by a few phone calls.

Who in the Hell is this PAC that takes money from the influence-peddling Portland Metropolitan Association of Realtors and this Lone Oak?  Who in the hell is North Plains 1st PAC?  Who could this be this powerful influencer seeking to get Lenahan and Sheldon elected using this outside influence and money?

OH MY GOD!!! SAY IT ISN’T SO!!!

RUSS SHELDON IS THE DIRECTOR OF THIS NEW PAC?

WHAT?  HOW CAN THIS BE? Great Ghost Of Pumpkin Ridge Pete (also an evil outsider according to the letter writer’s definition) – Say it isn’t so Russ.  How could you!!!

All of these screenshots are from the State of Oregon Elections websites.

More to follow – all satire and careful connection of the players aside, this letter is a fabrication filled with lies.  It is designed to subvert the election, and its source must be found.  No matter what you may think of the letter, reread these screen shots.  Lenahan and Sheldon and their ilk tried to force Your City, NORTH PLAINS, to grow.  They are the threat to your town in terms of growth- not the smart growth people.  Not the 4 citizens who have never taken this outside money or created this PAC to change your election.  Sheldon and Lenahan represent changes to the community that you are not meant to be a part of and they used their powers to run you over this year- and they are pissed off that you stood up to them.  They are pissed off their plans are falling apart and that they can not deliver to their supporters- to PMAR and LONE OAK if they are defeated. I say defeat them. Show them that trying to run you over with growth and shady deals and lawyers and legal battles to silence your vote is NOT OK!

Vote for the 4 – throw Sheldon and Lenahan out of office.  Send the message- and do NOT BELIEVE this letter, which is aimed to hurt people, to confuse people, and that was written and sent by a coward who I will now label as an outsider.

VOTE FOR THE 4 – THE ONLY LOCALS NOT TO FORCE GROWTH ON YOU AND WHO ARE NOT FUNDED AND INFLUENCED BY OUTSIDE $$$

North Plains folks are not just smart- they are wise.  Now is the time for YOU use that wisdom at the ballot box and save your town!

Last picture-

HERE IS YOUR MAYOR WITH GOVERNOR KOTEK SIGNING THE CHIPS ACT SB4-  This Is the Reason your City and Hillsboro will connect, and she was not there for support only- she wants Chips Act Money for North Plains Growth!  She wants Industrial from the overpass at Jackson Road to Atfalati Grade School to Downtown based on the maps that were released by the City this Year.  And it is not over yet!

If you have anything to add, inside information, or want to report anonymously who the author of that fabrication and campaign-altering trash called a letter was/is, email me at hillsboroherald@gmail.com

David H@/♡♡## (may have written) wrote the letter. He is probably in his late 70’s now, is a former mayor in North Plains, has lived here for 40 years, and is good buddies with Teri and Russ. He’s been posting rants on Facebook over and over the past month until his posts started getting deleted due to harassment. At this point, he’s just making things up. He is unhinged with conspiratorial thinking, and everybody I talked to was annoyed at the letter. It makes the establishment look very bad.

Wow, a great job of detective work Dirk. I received the letter and wish I had read the end first, anyone who will not sign their name to a letter would not deserve my time to read it. If I had been leaning to vote for Sheldon and Lenahan, your story would have changed my vote.

Good article Dirk, except for bashing Trump. No need for that, just keep it local.

It’s always the people with big-city aspirations who make small-town mistakes like this: Easily traceable political donations leading back to groups with their name attached to them. The insecurity of North Plains’ City Hall led to its growth-boundary overreach and the ensuing referendum. Let’s see how many more embarrassments it yields after Election Day.

P.S. “except for bashing Trump.” In Dirk’s defense, with people posting “never surrender” signs on their Hillsboro lawns, it’s already “local.”

Jason, with all due respect, “In Dirk’s defense” the reason for the ” people posting never surrender signs on their local Hillsboro lawns” might be because it is a National election year too, isn’t it.?
Like him or Hate him, DJT knows nothing about the Bullshit coming out of North Plains.

Yesterday, in fact, from two very reliable sources,….Ms. Lenihan was walking about N. Plains when she encountered an activist (from Hillsboro) carryimg a “Vote for the 4 sign”. When Ms. Lenihan and the activist met she said why don’t you go home to Hillsboro? The Activist responded, why don’t you you go back to Ohio?
What did Ms. Lenihan do…………….She flipped the Activist off and moved on. (What a Lady, Eh?)

Teri Lanihan, Get the Hell out of here and Go home to Ohio, Please! MB

Yes, Mike–I have been reading many conversations on Next door. This attitude of Teri Lenahan comes through at times also. In contrast, I have noted: comments of those running in opposition remain civil and free of mudslinging.
Here is an interesting quote from Lenahan there (her “interpretation” of the ballot vote results last May):
“And to clarify the 70%…it is 70% of those who voted which equates to approximately 40% of the population of NP.” !!

Received today “North Plains City Voter Guide” that appears to be just unbiased information on all candidates, but in fact bashes “the four” and promotes Sheldon, Fry, Kindel, and Lenahan. At least it identifies that Jackson Farm Land LLC published and paid for it.

I guess I would like to see a couple of snap shots of that. Doesn’t sound legitimate. That entity is owned by Don Maltase- long time real estate broker and land speculator. Let’s get to the bottom of this.

That is a deceptive name- not the actual Voters Guide – and that was published by one of the biggest land owners who has 120 acres next to the Grade School to the south. Can you call me at 503-799-8383 or send some photos of this supposed Voters Guide to hillsboroherald@gmail.com ?
