Anyone who knows the Herald’s work knows that we love Hillsboro Arts and are huge fans of the First Tuesday Art Walk.  Music and Visual arts explode on the scene every first Tuesday in the historic downtown Hillsboro blocks in an event that blends multiple locations and opportunities.  As visitors walk along, they will be welcomed into a dozen or more local businesses to hear music, see art of all sorts, and meet the talented and hard-working people who make it all happen!  So a nice brisk walk, a glass of wine or two, a quick bite at any of the fantastic eateries, and art- well, what more could a human being want? There is something for everyone at Art Walk!

For 17 years now, Art Walk has been a local favorite, and tonight should be a great one!  Hillsboro Downtown Partnership helps put the event together, and the venues are listed below from 5 to 8 PM.

November 2023 Hillsboro First Tuesday Art Walk

One stand-out stop tonight will be the Catherine Bede Gallery between 2nd and 3rd on Main- just back the indoor plaza from Oaxaca La Mixteca Restaurant.  The address is 230 E Main St, Suite D, Hillsboro, OR, United States, Oregon.  Catherine Bede is a local artist of great note, and her small art-affirming gallery is proof positive that many of the best things in life are in smaller spaces. Her work, as well as a number of artists, can be found inside.

Tonight, the gallery will be featuring another community treasure, Elizabeth Higgins, who is beloved in the community as a teacher and accomplished artist.  Her work will be featured at the gallery.

Bede posted about Higgins and the event tonight:

“During our November show, we will be welcoming Catherine Bede Gallery alum Elizabeth Higgins back to the gallery as our guest artist! Elizabeth Higgins is a Hillsboro artist and arts instructor who develops and teaches watercolor classes and nature connection workshops that connect people to nature, mindfulness, and creativity. She maintains a studio and classroom in historic downtown Hillsboro and teaches for various cultural organizations, as well as for her private students.
She will be sharing a special curated selection of her work during the event.”

Find out more about these dynamic artists, and please come out to support the local musicians and creatives downtown tonight!  Two of my favorite people in Hillsboro and the sort of creative and talented people who are putting us on the map!  Great job to all. I hope to see you out there tonight!
