Editor’s Note: This is a great event and one of the last great outposts of pre-1900 History in Washington County. It is located on the Tualatin Plains, across from the Methodist Meeting House Memorial, and in a spot where visitors will see the new Data Center Industries and History crashing together. The farm store is LOADED with goodies and the biggest selection of hot sauces I have ever seen- all locally made! Come LOCAL up and get your shopping groove on.
The historic Shute-Meierjurgen Farmstead in Hillsboro will be open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, November 29-30, from 10am to 4pm. Located at 4825 NE Starr Blvd, the Farmstead has been listed on the National Registry of Historic Places since 2018 and on the Washington County Inventory since 1980.

The owners will be on hand to host tours, share history, and accept donations of canned food for the Oregon Food Bank.
Our Little Farm and Nursery (Lisa and Randy Goldbeck), a staple vendor at the Hillsboro and Orenco Farmers’ Markets, will be selling their popular farm-to-table hot sauces, jams, and jellies and donating fresh produce to the food bank. The event in the Big Red Barn will also feature work by artisans of pottery, glass, and jewelry. A talk and discussion about Joe Meek and other historic figures will be hosted by local historians and members of the Hillsboro Historical Society at 2 pm on Sunday.

Meek’s donation land claim overlaps with the original DLC, where the Farmstead is located.
