The Hillsboro Farmers’ Market is bringing a special film to Hillsboro, and it was planned for tomorrow night. But with the looming snow and ice event, things will have to wait. Just a quick note tonight to help spread the word and to help draw attention to this important project. Here is the latest news:
Friends, we regret to inform you that the short film screening and Q&A scheduled for January 12th has been delayed. Considering possible road conditions and the commitment of farmers to their livestock and winter crops, we have decided to reschedule the event to Friday, March 22nd.
Your support and understanding are greatly appreciated, and we eagerly anticipate your presence in March!
Here is some info about this film:
Embark on an evening of camaraderie with the Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets as we unveil the Green Fork Initiative, a short film by Chef Andre Uribe of Rebel Root Films. “The Green Fork Initiative” strives to cultivate robust partnerships among farmers, culinary educators, and small businesses that uphold Washington County’s rich agricultural heritage. Together, the Hillsboro Farmers’ Markets aspire to nurture a resilient food economy that aligns with the principles of regenerative food culture, benefiting all in our community. Join us to learn more about the exciting developments and growth of HFM’s upcoming 2024 season.

You can watch the video above and get a sense of what this film is about. We live in a blessed place, and as a community, we have the capacity to grow almost all of the food we need right here, and we can do it affordably and sustainably. Farm to Table – that is what we have and that we need to build upon to support out growers, the people who harvest and produce, and all of those who work hard to bring the foods to our bodies! I am excited to see this film and I think March is a great time for this event.
