Six residents of Washington County are vying for your votes to win the District 4 Commissioner’s seat. Indivisible Forest Grove held another Town Hall last night, where candidates running for local office answered questions from the audience. The Hillsboro Herald is the only local news outlet that has been present and covering these events, and we were there last night for two of them.

All the candidates showed up and made strong arguments for why they should win the seat. In the Video we captured, you can hear all of them answer a set of questions that will help you determine who is best for you and to lead us forward. Some seasoned veterans, new energetic leaders, and outsiders are running- Democrats, Independents, and Republicans are vying for this non-partisan position; a position that pays well over $150,000 a year with benefits too!
County Commissioner, District 4 – The Candidates
Whoever wins will also serve as a member of the Clean Water Services Board. New leadership is needed soon to stop the financial crisis at the County ($5 Million plus in the hole) and the ethical mess that Clean Water Services is still in. This is a HUGE DEAL, people, 4 more years like the last 4 we have seen, and there won’t be signs of crisis; we will be deeply in one.
Good Luck to all of them- the Herald will be making our official endorsements next week.

Procedural question: In county commissioner elections, does the largest percentage of total votes win the seat or is there a runoff scenario?
I am told that unless someone gets more than 50%, there will be a run off.
Good to know. Thank you for clearing that up.
