Immunization Exclusion Day and Vaccine ClinicsStudents attending public schools in Oregon must have all required vaccinations or a medical or nonmedical exemption to remain enrolled after February 19. Native American/Alaska Native PAC MeetingThe next meeting of our Native American/Alaska Native Parent Advisory Committee is Wednesday, February 19 from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Brookwood Elementary School. Black History Month CelebrationHSD, the Black Village Family Advisory Committee, and Black Student Union invite you to celebrate Black History Month at an event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, February 20 at South Meadows Middle School. Hillsboro Schools Foundation Innovative GrantsThe Hillsboro Schools Foundation is accepting abstract applications for its 2025-26 grant cycle through Thursday, February 20. Give Kids A Smile Free Dental ClinicIn honor of National Children’s Dental Health Month, Pacific University’s dental hygiene program is hosting a free Give Kids a Smile event on Saturday, February 22, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at their Hillsboro clinic (222 SE 8th Ave.). Crystal Apple AwardsThe Washington County Chamber is now accepting nominations for its 20th Annual Crystal Apple Awards, recognizing excellence in education. Nominations of deserving staff members will be accepted in the categories of licensed, classified, and administrator/super-tech through Friday, February 28. Digital Literacy WorkshopsHillsboro Public Library is one of two libraries in Oregon to receive funding from the Public Library Association to host Digital Literacy Workshops. The HSD Board of Directors comprises seven elected members serving four-year terms and three student representatives serving a one-year term. Board members are community volunteers and do not receive compensation for their work. Board members establish policy based on Oregon and Federal laws governing schools.
