      Hi Kay-

Thank you! That is so wonderful. I am the president of the Historical Society as well as our editor. I would love to know if you have family History to share and if so would you? Is this home still standing? I believe it to be gone because we can not see it from the road or an aerial photo. https://heritage.lib.pacificu.edu/files/original/da218f9b120e33bd15d6f1cdc52bb312357cc544.jpeg See if you can see that photo link.

      Thanks and let us know!

      Dirk

The original home is gone (maybe, more than once) and a ranch house built in 1952 is there. That’s where my brothers and I grew up and we still own it. The farm was originally a Donation Land Claim and great great grandfather bought it from the original claimants named Lewis. We have the paperwork signed by U.S.Grant.

My great grandfather was Edward Schulmerich’s brother so the picture you have is actually my grandfather, Frank Schulmerich, Edward’s nephew, on Farmington Rd.

Edward’s farm was south of Hillsboro but not on Farmington Rd. and no longer owned by a relative.

I’m glad you’re interested in history; I’m a docent at the Oregon Historical Society and always happy to chat with a fellow enthusiast.
